Often in small business people underestimate the importance of understanding your competition because your clients always have choices, your customers always have choices. If you don’t know what those choices are your customers will find them for you.

So again being aware: and they always joke about you keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer - in the context of competing with other businesses: know what they’re doing, be aware so that you can be as sharp as the are and there’s nothing wrong with copying the work of others. Maybe from another community or another city or another country, but copying, stealing menus in the restaurant business is an old axiom, but being aware what your customers want from what your clients and customers are getting from your competitors is the most important thing you can do.
