How to Avoid Setting Your Career on Cruise Control
Unfortunately so often we are on cruise control in our careers. We know what’s on our job description and we show up to work, we do the bare minimum, we report in and then tune out so cruise control is really when you lose sense of deliberateness about why you’re there, what the value is you have to offer and you start to just do your tasks and unfortunately cruise control is not sufficient. It’s not where amazing things happen, it’s not what your team is counting on your for so instead of cruise control and antidote is really putting your full value, your experience, your personality, your style, all that’s really amazing about you and that combination of relationships and experiences and personality is as unique as your finger print and no one on your team can replace that. So if you’re on cruise control it’s time to switch it off and put your foot back on the gas.
